Did you have a favorite?  We you inspired by another quilt?  I know I am, and I'll be collecting my scraps again for another Tucker as I have a few places that need that special touch only a quilt can bring.  

For most of us, these next few weeks will be spent with family and friends, celebrating the holidays, and welcoming a New Year.  I'll be doing the same with my family, although it will be very different as I lost my 34 year old sister this year, so it will be a difficult time for us, but we'll get through it together.  

It's amazing how our stitching is our constant companion through good times and sad ones.  That has been the way for stitchers from the beginning of time, and our quilting ancestors certainly wrote about it.  My stitches have been a source of peace and fulfillment for me for as long as I can remember, and I love dreaming up new things to keep our needles busy.  

2016 will be an exciting year and I hope you'll like the fabrics and projects already in the works for your consideration.  Surely there will be another Pocket Patchwork Sew-Along, although I'm not sure when or what.  

Enjoy your weekend and the anticipation that is always in the air the days before Christmas.

Airing of the Quilts ~ Tucker ~ Part One

This is one of my favorite things to write a post about, when it's time to show off all of YOUR quilts on the clothes line!!  (If you're new to my blog, I hosted a Pocket Patchwork Sew-Along called Tucker a few months ago.  Click here to read all about it.)  As you enjoy the photos, you will not only see finished Tucker quilts, but how your fellow quilters changed the design to suit need and creativity, which I LOVE, but also the clever places where they have tucked their quilts.  So, so fun!!  I'm jazzed, elated, and inspired, and I'm sure you will be to.

Introducing Old Mill Pond!

This is a first look at my newest quilt called Old Mill Pond.  

I just got it back from the quilter and it's about to be trimmed for the binding.  "The Quilter" in this case is my friend and quilt shop owner, Valerie Langue, of The Quilt Merchant .  I took most of the photos without a flash or inside lighting to show off Val's gorgeous work!

I don't have a full photo of the quilt until the binding is on, but just had to share these quilting pictures with you.  

I'm hoping you can kinda see what the quilt looks like from all the photos.  

Old Mill Pond was  superbly pieced by my dear friend, Debbie McClarence, and features all of the fabrics from my newest collection, called Antique Cotton Calicos ~ Old Green Calicos, for Marcus Fabrics, of course!

Antique Cotton Calicos is a new series of fabric collections for me, and Old Green Calicos is the first in the series.  There's another already in production!  So exciting!!

The Old Green Calico fabrics will arrive at your local quilt shop in January, so be sure to ask for them there!

The Old Mill Pond pattern will be ready very soon.  I will offer a kit for it, as well as Fat Quarter and Fat Eighth bundles once the bolts arrive here as well.  

There will also be a 10" precut pack for this collection, and I've designed a separate throw quilt with it, called Evening Shade, so stay tuned for info about quilt soon as well.

Last call asking for you to send me a photo of your Tucker quilt!!!  Photos have been arriving each week and I'd really love to see YOURS!!!!  Remember, it doesn't have to be quilted!!  Tops are just fine, but please do send me a photo!

Scrap Give-away & Other Stuff

To say I was overwhelmed....blown away.....rendered speechless over your comments for the Scraps Give-away....well.....that would  be an understatement!!  Over 500 comments came in for a chance to win one of three boxes of scraps, and I read each and every comment, with each one feeling like a little gift to me.  
When I write my blog posts, I try not to think about how many people there  really are out there reading it lest I have stage fright, but I do wonder from time to time.  When I receive comments like this, it really makes it all worth it for me.  So, a big THANK YOU to everyone who takes the time out of their busy day to read my blog!  And a special thank you for those who have left me comments over the years.  I appreciate it more than you know!

I would love to give your wonderful scraps a new home. I usually make doll quilts, and scraps are perfect. Lap quilts, as well, can use up a lot of scraps. With smaller quilts, I am able to get them finished. And sometimes, the doll quilts even get hand quilted.

Tucker Reminder!!

For anyone wanting to participate in the Airing of the Quilts for the Tucker Sew-Along, please remember to send me a jpg photo of your quilt (quilt tops are perfectly OK!) by December 15th!  I'm receiving photos every week from quilters around the world, and they are really cute!  Many showing just where the quilt is 'tucked in' around the house, so you're sure to be inspired.  I know I am!

Scraps Looking For A New Home!

We've been very busy little fabric cutters here, and have once again generated a lot of scraps.  I love scraps and have plenty, so I'd like to send three boxes of fabric scraps to a good home!  

Do you know anyone who would like to adopt a box of scraps?  

Perhaps YOU would take delivery of one of my loaded boxes of fabric scraps??

Each of the three boxes are filled to the top with various sizes of scraps...all from a variety of my fabric lines with Marcus Fabrics.  And you know just how wonderful Marcus Fabrics are!!
