Now that you've made lots of Half Square Triangles, we're ready to begin sewing blocks! Yay!
As I said before, this quilt is ultra scrappy. If you're making your quilt from the fabric kit, don't worry about matching your HST fabrics to mine! It won't matter at all in the finished quilt. I could just as easily picked up a different bunch of fabric combinations or HST's for this block. Trust me...just have fun and play!
Arrange (16) HST exactly as shown.
Sew together in rows; press for opposing seams or press seams open. Sew rows together; press. Your block should measure 6 1/2" unfinished.
All done for now..... See you next Friday!

Dorothy ~ this is just the first block. The sew-along just started and we'd love for you to join us. To get all of the previous instructions, click on the Label: Pocket Patchwork Nabby's Dowry found at the bottom of this blog post. It will collect all of the posts for you and you can get all the info. Hope this helps ya!
DeletePam -- I started in the beginning -- so I have all my triangles done I was just double checking that we only make 1 of these blocks :)
DeleteSo simply beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh, so glad you like it!!
DeleteHey, just found this. I have a question. I have a million HST's leftover from another project. They are 1-1/2" unfinished. Would they work for this project, just the whole thing being smaller?
ReplyDeleteKaren ~ you sure can!! Why not use those orphans, right? The only thing you'll have to remember is to change the sizes on the setting/finishing pieces of the quilt. If you need some help with this, just email me directly.
DeleteHope you'll be sewing along with us!!

ReplyDeleteOh this is lovely!!
ReplyDeleteJust saw this yesterday on Quilter Kathy's blog and was up at 3:00 am making mine. I'm also using leftover 1 inch finished bonus blocks. Thank you for a fun project. Is this a mystery or is there a pic of the finished top that I've missed.
ReplyDeleteThis block is so sweet...love the idea of making the HSTs and then arranging them all! May look through my orphans first and see what I have. Thanks for the sewalong!
