Are you wondering how many ways we can play with HST's? Way more than we will, I assure you!! Here's your next block....
I've thrown some squares into the mix this time. You'll need (12) HST and (4) squares. Arrange them as shown.....
By now you surely know the drill....sew into rows; press, then sew rows together for a 6 1/2" unfinished block.
Did you like making all the HST units the first week? With all of that done, it makes the block assembly pretty quick! Let's meet again next Friday....

My opinion shouldn't count, since I am not sewing along, but I will say that large numbers of HSTs scare me. : )
ReplyDeleteI am more of a "cut it all out, sew it as I go" kind of quilter.
I am loving these scrap blocks and wish I HAD made all those HSTs so I could put these blocks together so quickly.
I have to say that I would definitely participate in another project like this when all the prep-work is done ahead of time. Usually by now I would have fallen behind, but it's nice that every Friday I just have to spend 15 minutes at the current block and I'm all caught up! Good for the summer-time, I think.
ReplyDeleteI loved making the HST's first! This is like the icing on the cake when I make a block each week. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI used an easy angle ruler to make my triangles and each week I lay my triangles out to match your pattern. I love making it each week. So much fun and what great ideas you have. Thanks for the quilt along it is so interesting to see how you can mix them up and come up with a great design.
ReplyDeleteI'm so thrilled to be keeping up with your block instructions - look forward to seeing the finished project!
ReplyDeleteI've been cutting and sewing the HSTs as I go since I knew that trying to do them all at once would drive me insane. ;)
ReplyDeleteHowever, even doing that and being a hand sewer I'm still managing to finish these blocks by the end of the weekend.
All caught up today. Thanks for the SAL. I only needed to cut the Solid Squares and finish #2 and #6. I'm having fun stitching them on my 1950's Featherweight.
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing this with us, I enjoy doing triangles more than squares or strips
ReplyDeleteWHEW!!! I'm caught up! It took me all this time...but I did it! Bring on next Friday!
