Pinch Me!

I received a really exciting email the other day....totally unexpected, from a very famous quilt author whom shall remain nameless.  Her very kind email told me that she was gathering fabrics for Di Ford's wildley anticipated and soon to be published mystery BOM with Quiltmania magazine.  I had heard a lot about it.  The photo above is, I believe, the center medallion.  Only very few select shops around the world are authorized to kit this quilt.  Here in the U.S., Homestead Hearth is the only shop I know of offering kits of as many of the exact fabrics Di used as possible.  Anyway....

Fabric 2 from Pin Money, Fabric 6 & 9 from Prairie Woven's & Dobby

The reason the famous author was emailing me was because she said several of my fabrics were used by Di Ford in her mystery BOM, and she was writing to purchase a fabric she was missing.
Well...plow me over with a feather!

To say that I'm excited that Di Ford chose three of my fabrics for phase one of her BOM is a giant understatement.  There are several other Marcus fabrics in the photo above as well.  I talked with the folks at Marcus to see if they knew about this, and yes indeed they did.  Apparently, I'll have several other Pin Money prints and Prairie wovens in the BOM!!  WOW!
I'm told there's a lot of Marcus Fabrics in the quilt.

So, please forgive my humble ramblings, but this is all so new to me, and so jazzed!!  Di...just in case you're out there....thank you!!  And, dear famous author...thanks for letting me know, and it was so nice emailing back and forth with you!!

Today, I have a little skip in my step.....teehee!!!

  10. I know you are just thrilled - as you should be! It's great to be recognized and know that your fabric is about to be exposed to potentially so many more people than before. I have enjoyed your fabrics for awhile now ... at the moment American Gothic is in my current project. Congratulations again! Jennifer @ Seams Crazy

  11. I live in France and am delighted to be about to start this BOM. I took two classes with Di Ford at a stitching salon in France last year. With her talents as a designer and some beautiful fabric from the likes of yourself and Judie Rothermel, I am really excited about this project (and a bit apprehensive too!) Wish me luck!
