Plumberry Is Here!!

Plumberry Is Here!!!

It always seems like such a long, long wait until a new fabric collection finally arrives.  When it's finally here, I want to celebrate!

Historic reproduction fabrics in shades of purple are few and far between.  It's been a few years now since my first plum collection, Old Plum Calicoes was out, and this one is long overdue!

I can see on social media that Plumberry is also arriving at your local quilt shop, so please....go there and buy a bunch!  They really need your patronage to make up for being closed, and I always encourage you to support your LQS before buying from me.  It's so important!
There are thirteen purple prints in shades from lavender to eggplant, and seven assorted light prints with plum-colored motifs.

Even if you wouldn't make yourself an entirely purple color quilt, adding shades of plum to your historic repro quilts is just wonderful.  I love them!

If your LQS does not carry Plumberry, I have fat quarter bundles and yardage on my website, available now!

Click here to order Plumberry Fat Quarter Bundles.

Click here to shop Plumberry yardage.

To celebrate the arrival of  Plumberry, I'm offering a give-away!
I have several Plumberry Fat Eighth bundles and my new Nan's Fancy quilt pattern (quilt made with Plumberry, of course) to give away.

Leave a comment on the following question by midnight Saturday.  I'll randomly choose a couple of comments to receive this prize.

Finish this sentence.....Right after I complete a really big quilt project, the first thing I do is......

In the meantime, everyone....stay safe, keep on stichin because it keeps our sanity!!
Be well...

  3. Take lots of pictures! Although I normally take pictures throughout the whole process, it is wonderful to have a picture of the quilt, the quilt design and the binding! Second thing is to clean my sewing room which gets totally ignored while I'm sewing.

  10. Plumberry is just beautiful! I never thought of myself as a purple fan until just recently. Right after I complete a really big quilt project, the first thing I do is reward myself with a small project - a mini quilt or table runner - with scraps. Thanks so much for the giveaway!

  11. The first thing I do...now that’s hard to say! But I think I keep working on other projects. I’m a terrible one for starting!! I always have lots of projects on the go!!

  12. The first thing I do is look to see what is next on the list. I determine if I start a new project or finish up something else. It always feels so good finishing up a quilt. The Plumberry bundle is beautiful.

  13. These new Plumberry fabrics are lovely. Right after I complete a really big quilt project, the first thing I do is pinch myself to make sure I really did finish it. I'm not a very prolific quilter so I'm always a bit surprised when I take a project from start to finish.

  14. I wash the quilt. I’d like to say that I start another quilt but by the time the last quilt is done I’ve already consulted my inner squirrel and probably have a minimum of 2 other projects started. Lol!

  18. The first thing I do after finishing a quilt is try to take pictures with my animals on it :-) Then I look for another project if I haven't started one already. The Plumberry line is so beautiful!

  19. Share it with my quilting friends!!! They have often seen parts of it or given much needed advice/support when I get stumped, or things simply don't seem to go together as expected. They are my inspiration and I would be LOST without them!!!!

  20. Plumberry is gorgeous! I'll check with the LQS that carries repros after I get back from the beach. And to answer your question: Right after I complete a really big quilt project, the first thing I do is make a baby or doll quilt from the scraps.

  21. Think about the quilt design/s I want to do. This is the hardest part of all for me.

  22. As I’m putting the final stitches in the last project, I’m already thinking what will be the next quilt brought to the forefront. I evidently love starting quilts and I do like to have several quilts underway to give me a variety to work on. But to answer your question, before I move on to the next project I put away scraps and clean up my quilt room.

  23. First post never gets picked but here I go. After I complete a big project I leave my sewing area for a couple of days and goof off then I go in and clean up. Goofing off can be taken as looking st eye candy and thinking about another project be it cross stitch or quilting.

  25. Right after I complete a really big quilt project, the first thing I do is work on a UFO or a small project for a quick finish. Also if I am finishing a big project that means that I have been quilting for a long time, so I will do some applique to do something different for a while.

  27. As I’m putting the final stitches in my binding, I’m already thinking which quilt will be coming to the forefront to be finished. Evidently I like starting quilts as I have many that can be moved up to be finished. But to answer your question, when one project is finished I put away leftover scraps and cleanup the sewing room.

  28. Oh, Pam!! Plumberry is to totally die for!!! I love red, but this is delicious and will make a beautiful quilt.
The first thing I do after making and finishing a big quilt is clean up the mess so I can begin another quilt! Of course, I make about thirty trips past the bed to admire the finished quilt. Congratulations on Plumberry release!!

  29. First thing I do is a little cleanup and then I play with a no-stress project. I have a fun string quilt that I love to pull out and just sew away on!

  54. I clean my sewing room so I can start a new project, and take a photo to document the quilt in my scrapbook. To be honest, I usually have the next project in mind while completing a project...I’m a bit of a squirrel that way. Then of course, reading your blog and seeing you were coming out with this line the excitement has been building. So hard to find good purples and I absolutely adore this line.

  55. Right after I complete a big quilt project, the first thing I do is a few small projects to feel like I'm doing more....small gratifications. It could be cross stitch, embroidery, a doll blanket, ornaments, or a mini quilt. It always feels good to have the little things accomplished too.

I love Plumberry and thanks for the opportunity of your giveaway. Recently I did a table runner with shades of purple and olive fabrics and I was told that it was lovely and we need more purple in quilting. I agree and thankfully you do too! Best wishes....Bobbie Z.

BUT, the FIRST quilt I ever hand-quilted and was finished, I laid out nice and neat excited to look at the accomplishment, and my little daughter walked by and threw up ON IT before I had a chance to look! It washed up fine, but everytime I lay a quilt to look, I remember that moment! I LOVE the plum!!! Oh, my heart!
