Many Thanks!

Many, many thanks to all of you who placed an order over the weekend.
My little Valentine quilt kit was a big hit and I'm so jazzed that you like it!!  We're working hard to process all the orders and get them out to you.  Please give us a few days to get through them all.  I assure you, they will all be going out this week.

Snow fell again here last night after a couple of days of warm weather.  It was a nice break from the bitter cold.  But....Mother Nature is reminding us that winter has a long way to go yet!

For the last few months, I've been getting up very early to sew an hour every morning on a very big secret project.  Trying to squeeze it in each day while I work on all the other goodies in production.  It is a great way to start my day and I am amazed how much I get done in just one hour.  Because it's so early, the house is quiet, no phones, no interruptions.  It makes me feel so good starting the day with sewing time that I don't know why I haven't been doing this all along!  I've got a feeling I'll always make time for at least an hour of sewing each day from now on.

Do you dedicate time each day to sew at least a little something?

Leave me a comment on my blog by Friday night to win a Valentine kit!!

(I'm sorry, but I am unable to ship outside of the US.)

A little "Me" time sewing each day.....It's a very good thing!

  1. That little Valentine quilt is so adorable! I am waiting to hear from Cyndi about what she ordered before I go to your website. I want the entire Tall Grass collection. I love every fabric in it! And yes, I sew every day. I am up at 4:30 so I can sew from 5:00 to 7:00 before work. Then a few hours most nights after dinner. Hopelessly addicted!

  2. I do try to get at least a bit of sewing time each day. Most days, M-F, I spend most of the day in my workroom sewing, but if I have other things to do, I try to squeeze in at lest a bit of hand stitching at night (bindings, wool applique, etc.).

  3. Your little Valentine quilt is positively adorable! I love it.
Even though quilting is my second priority, I stitch or sew nearly every day. Most mornings I hand stitch or hand quilt if I have something ready and then later in the day I devote some time to machine sewing and/or deciding on fabrics, colors, patterns for the next quilt. Thank you for offering the kit as a giveaway.

  4. Yes, but I try for 15 mins each day. Too much life happening right now to aim for any more than that. I have a calendar on my wall next to my sewing desk and I mark each day that I get to sew for at least 15 mins. I keep track each month and then total up my year. 2017 was 156 day...not very good, but 2018 will be better! Take care and thanks for this chance!

  5. Not during the week, I don't, but Saturday and Sundays I do! Any quilting done during the week is "bonus" quilting to me. :)

  6. Normally I get up early, but not to sew. I'm just an early riser. I do try to sew every day, sometimes both morning and afternoon. I might sew in the evening if I have been gone during the day. Your little Valentine quilt is so cute! Your patterns are always so well written! Thanks for the chance to win one!

  7. Looking forward to getting my kit in the mail! Thanks for the opportunity to get this kit for free. I too am an early riser, but, I don't sew at that time. Usually try to get some stitching in, when I get home from work in mid-afternoon. HUGS... and stitches

  8. So very cute! I love little quilts, and don't have a little valentine-y looking one.... yet! Yes, I do dedicate stitching time every day! I do an hour every morning in the sewing room before I start my work day, and each and every evening in my lazy-girl-chair, I hand stitch - red-work style embroidery, needle-turn applique, binding, anything really, just to wind down. It really is my peace/piece of mind time. Happy stitching to you, and thanks for the chance at a very cute little quilt kit!!

  9. I try to sew every day but my schedule doesn't always allow! I try to at least do a little something--maybe hand sew a binding or at least look through a book or magazine to plan my next project. That's why I love little quilts like this one--almost instant gratification! Thanks, Pam!

  10. I do get up early so I have a little sewing time without distractions. And in front of the tv in the evening is definitely hand sewing time. I love your little Valentine quilt. Thanks for the chance to win!

  11. I try and stitch a little every day and most days I manage to get it done.

  12. Yes i try to sew at least 20 minutes everyday. That is 1 completed block, or one pass on the handiquilter, or quite a bit of handwork. It all adds up. I LOVE red, valentines anything! This kit is pickin’ cute!

  13. I'm not sure my head is clear enough first thing in the morning for sewing but my sewing room is a place I retreat to since my husband retired. He is so restless, he's driving me crazy. I told him he needs a hobby or a job or maybe he just needs to put his snow pants on and go outside to play! Grandma Rita

  14. I try to sew a little each day but I can’t seem to get a routine of the same time each day. I think I would like that. Thanks for the chance to win.

  15. I sew some just every day! I'd love one of your Valentine Kits.

  16. Hi Pam! I do try and set aside sewing time every day, be it piecing on the machine or hand appliqué.
Your Valentine kit is adorable, of course I’d love to win one.

  17. I try to find a little time each day. I made a promise in this New Year to try and finish my many UFO'S ! So far it's going well. Your valentine quilt is adorable, thanks for a chance to win.

  18. What a cute, little kit! I try to sew everyday, but life gets in the way and it doesn't always happen. I do keep a little handwork sitting out waiting to be worked on, so if I have only a few minutes, I can get something accomplished.

  19. Since the beginning of this year, I've sewn every day because I have the goal to finish the four partially completed quilt tops on my design wall. Almost finished with the first one--a Valentine's birthday gift for my sister. I would love to win your Valentine kit--thank you for offering us the chance to win.

  20. That is a very sweet little kit! I have had some luck doing some handsewing in the evening to "up" my sewing finishes the last couple months.

  21. I usually have a hand work project when I watch TV and I always take a project with me when I go somewhere that I might have to wait. I am a night owl so I usually stay up a little later than everyone to have interruption free sewing time.

  22. I like to try and get some sewing done each and every day but there is no set time for it. I would love to win one of your kits. Thanks for the opportunity.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I try to sew or embroider or knit every day. I spent all day yesterday putting a quilt for a child together. Makes me happy to be busy making things for others. Thanks for a chance to win one of your kits.

  24. Sewing everyday is as important to me as breathing. I think, contemplate and relax to my sewing machine whirring away. These days I am a scrappy girl sewing all my favorite fabrics into scrap patterns.....

  25. I do sew almost every day but I sew for a business. I’d love to do my fun sewing each day and I do keep a little by my work table to pick up if I get to a stopping point on my work. Love your valentine kit!

  26. I don't set aside time each day to sew, but I really should. I tend to sew in spurts when the mood strikes me or a particular project calls out to be finished. Maybe I can start a new good habit . . . thank you for a chance to win one of your adorable little Valentine kits!

  29. I sew every morning. At least two hours before starting my day. Then cleaning.

  30. I sew everyday .. whether it's working on a quilt, making a creature/doll, or working on a gift. My PC is at right angles to my sewing machine. It's my little corner of the world and, at 80, I'm very content there.

  31. I sew mostly every day, unless I'm on a day road trip with the hubs or a girlfriend.

  32. Hi Pam. I am retired now and I try to schedule two blocks of time: an hour or so in the morning for cutting and planning and some sewing. Also an hour or so in the afternoon for my main sewing session. I do hand quilting or stitching down bindings at night. It is amazing how much you can do with an hour a day.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Very neat kit. I need to start setting aside a few minutes to sew every day because I know I'd get alot accomplished!! Have a fun day!! angielovesgary2 atgmail dotcom

  34. I haven’t been sewing as right now trying to clean out stuff not needed in order to get ready for a spring construction project. But I have been cooking & I made your Chocolate Walnut Cookies for a farewell party. They were a hit. Thanks for the recipe.

  35. I wish I was able to sew every day. Maybe I'd get some of my project done. I'm afraid if I would sew in the morning I'd "forget" to go to work.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I wish I could do so. I babysit grandkids 2 nights after work eliminating those nights.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I “TRY” to, but more often than not, life gets in the way. I do find I feel so much better about life in general when I do though!

    ReplyDelete
  38. How did I miss the last post? It is a sweet Valentine quilt design, Pam!
Wish I could sew every day. Unfortunately, real life sometimes makes even one day a week impossible. I try to have hand stitching for any evenings that I am able to sit, but sometimes my machine is idle for days. That is not a good thing.

  39. The Valentine quilt is adorable. My husband likes to take a nap every afternoon sometime around 1 PM. So I have made it my special time to get some sewing done. But some days I could sew all afternoon. Thanks for all the fun.

  40. This is the perfect project. Truth be told, Most of my quilting is done in my head. OK, not all. I need some project to focus in on. There is always something else that needs my attention. I'm doing my best to get back to "me". Love your primitive look.

  41. I also get up early to have some quilting time before work! I agree, you can get so much done before the busy day starts :) Heather Potts

  44. Your Valentine quilt is precious! I love the colors too! I too have been trying to work on bit of sewing each day and I find I get the most done early in the morning while it is quiet and the day just beginning! I realized recently that it really uplifts me personally as I complete each thing I am working on! It gives me a real boost! I'm looking forward to Spring and Summer for those beautiful sunny mornings and longer days! I have a lot to do! ;)

  45. I love the Valentine quilt.....How adorable!! It is with best intention that I try to quilt some each day.....but sometimes it gets pushed to the back burner! Must make more "Me" time!!

  46. I have always been an early riser. Attribute it to being raised on a farm. Crafting in the early morning is the best time of the day! Thanks for all of your designs and excellent instructions. I look forward to each of your patterns and kits and enjoy gifting my friends and family.

  47. I became a very early riser when I was teaching school. Loved the quiet time to get ready for the workday! I used part of that time to get some stitching done as well! Been retired for nearly 20 years and I still love getting up early! Sweet Valentine quilt!

  48. This is such a cute Valentine quilt. I am a morning person. Just love the quiet stillness of the morning just before the hustle and bustle of the day. But I only get to enjoy those mornings on my day off from work! So I try to sew at least 1/2 - 1 hour in the evening. It's so calming after a busy day at work too! Dolores from Michigan

  49. Love all of your designs! We farm so my daily schedule is erratic, my husband keeps me hopping. But I usually find at least 20 minutes a day to sew/cut/iron. It's my therapy. Always excited to see what you have coming next! Happy Valentine's Day!

  50. I do try and fit some sewing in every day. Not as early as you though!

  53. Yes, I do sew every day. If I don't get the time to sew a little I get out of sorts. Love to sew! Thanks Pam

  54. I have not developed the habit yet of sewing an hour each day, that would be glorious if I could set aside that kind of time, I work full time outside of the home so carving out sewing time is a little more challenging. I love all your fabric and patterns

  55. I do try to sew/cut each day but sometimes life gets in the way.

Your small quilt is sweet. Would love to add it to my collection.

  56. I sure do. First thing in the a.m. I quilt. After dinner until bed time I cross stitch. Regardless of what needs to be done or happens in the middle of the day, it's okay!

    ReplyDelete
  57. I do make it my goal to sew some each day, but some days it gets pushed aside. I find my best time to sew is afternoons. I am not really a morning person.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Now that I'm retired, I have more time to sew so I do make that a priority. Either I'm sewing something on the machine during the day, or hand sewing binding, embroidering, or needle turn appliqueing in the evening. Your Valentine quilt is adorable and I'd love to win that to make for our home. Thanks for the chance!

  59. There’s always a project to work on. Stealing a few minutes here and there to work on them and before you know it, you’re done!

  60. Your valentine quilt is adorable. I try to spend time in my sewing room each day.

  61. Love this little valentine quilt! Our adult daughter has become disabled and moved back home six years ago, about the time I retired. I can't express what quilting has meant to me! I sew every day; try to spend an hour or two at the machine; then hand work in the evening. Thanks for the chance! <3

  62. That is the cutest Valentine quilt! I forgot to check my email over the weekend and I didn't see your post about the Valentine kit until Monday, so thank you for the chance to win one! So far I have not been able to set aside time to quilt each day, but I'm hoping to change that soon when I retire in March! Best wishes and Happy Valentine's Day!

  63. Morning is my go to time for sewing as well although I have recently found some time after the afternoon dog walk before dinner! That early morning before the world gets up is the best time of day though!
This is such a sweet Valentine quilt. Thank you for sharing :-)

  64. I always put aside at least a hour for my quilting. What I sew depends mostly on my mood. I have a Grace EZ3 floor frame set up in my dining room so any extra time gets spent putting in more hand stitches on the quilt in that frame.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Love this little valentine quilt. I try to grab a few minutes of sewing time each day, but it's hard. If I'm needing to get something in particular done, I'll get up early. Otherwise, I sew a little after my husband goes to bed.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Sewing everyday, whether it's for a short time or a long time, gives me a chance to be creative, peaceful and avoid therapy!

  67. Yes, I try to devote a little time each day to quilting, if not on my machine then doing my English Paper Piecing. Thanks - Robert, from northern Iowa.

  68. I try to do so. Better about it this year. If I am home, I sew every afternoon. It's wonderful!

  69. I try to sew every day, it truly is my therapy; but sometimes life takes over, and my sewing has to take a back seat.

  70. USPS tracking promises that my order will arrive today!!! I love happy mail days! :-) And, it's just in time for the weekend too! I try to put aside an hour every night for something creative (sewing, hooking, painting)...just to unwind from the day. Doesn't always fit the schedule...but, I do try! :-)

  71. Ohhh pick me, pick me! Winter is my time to sew and it's slipping by quickly.

  72. Love this pattern! Since retiring 2 years ago I make time each day to sew/quilt or do something creative. I find that creativity gives me such contentment & results in me expanding my sewing/quilting adventures. What I would not have even begun to attempt 2 years ago is now a new quilt/sewing project I am working on or creating! I sure do love your fabrics & patterns!!!
