Spring Finally Sprung

After what seems like rivers full of rain, Spring finally gave us a beautiful day yesterday with sunshine and mild, warm temperatures.  I hit the ground running early in the morning and didn't stop until dinner time.
This is a rare May to be home the entire month because I'm usually preparing for quilt market, attending quilt market, or unpacking from quilt market.  I planted flowers all day, and today, we're back to soaking rain all day.  (This is the view out my sewing room window right now.)  I guess it's good for the flowers and the new sod we planted. This week promises to be much nicer!  Yay!

I sure hope you liked my scrappy little runner, Safe Keeping sew along....I haven't heard much from you all.  Please let me know if you enjoyed it and if I should keep doing them?
I did receive an email from S Bennett from TN who inquired weeks ago about the first little runner I shared....a small Log Cabin.  She asked the size of the block and logs.  About a week later (no kidding!) she sent me this photo of the Log Cabin runner she made for her sideboard.
WOW!  It's really lovely and fits this spot perfectly.  Thanks for sharing your photo!
Don't forget!!!  I'm announcing  my next Quilt Archaeology this coming Friday, May 22nd.

Antebellum

Can't wait until then!!  In the meantime.....stay safe and keep on creating!

  1. I LOVE the sewalongs. I have quite a few from years past. My mission during this awful time is to work on the tops that hang in my closet. I made one more top and am quilting the monster now. I have quilted and bound 3 more tops. I will make my little runner when I get a few more tops done. Thanks, I love the little blocks!

  3. i loved the Safe Keeping runner, I made two, one is in the binding stage, the other blocks need to be sewn together. One blue, one pink/brown, both will be gifts. Thanks, please do some more. It is the perfect "in between" project.

  4. I finished mine!! And I love it. I added a small border to mine and had to be sparing with the leftovers to get enough for the binding to match my borders! https://chrisknits.wordpress.com/2020/05/15/friday-fos-9/
And now, I know what I need to do with all those 1.5" strips I keep cutting. Her runner is wonderful.

  5. Hi Pam, I LOVED the safe keeping runner and made the block each week. I made my blocks scrappy in red, white, and blue. They're not sewn into the runner yet, but I'll have it finished in time for Memorial Day. Thank you for the sweet diversion project. Looking forward to the next Quilt Archaeology, too! Thank you for sharing it with us!

  7. I have done your SALs in the past, but mask making, senior parent care, and birthday gift making have kept me from joining the last few. I REALLY want to go back and make your little Christmas quilt. LOVE that. The Log Cabin runner S. Bennett made is stunning!
Would love to sew along in the future when my life settles a bit.

  8. Your sewalong was great, Pam! I want to start another runner in different colors next, or make more blocks, or, or, or.... It's such fun to have a short and sweet project! Thank you!

  11. I loved the Safe Keeping runner too. Thank you for doing that for us. I stayed right on top of making the first 3 blocks but then life got busy. Hope to finish the 4th block this weekend. I may end up remaking one of the blocks so my fabric choices work a little better for the layout. One block a week made this a very achievable project. I wouldn't mind a little log cabin project.

  13. I love your sewalongs but having been working on a quilt for my granddaughter Gianni who sadly is a Senior of 2020. I am trying to do her a Memory Quilt with photos of her family and events. There are so many choices of which to do first of all the wonderful quilters who have been trying to keep our spirits up. Log Cabins are my favorite and I love the Tablerunner idea although wider. Thank you for your time.

  14. Somehow I didn't pay attention to the SAL - but that runner is absolutely wonderful! I made a table runner last autumn, but the blocks are bigger and not nearly so dear as yours. I have so much fabric and am working my way through it, so thanks for the inspiration. Love your yard, btw!
