Scraps Looking For A New Home!

We've been very busy little fabric cutters here, and have once again generated a lot of scraps.  I love scraps and have plenty, so I'd like to send three boxes of fabric scraps to a good home!

Do you know anyone who would like to adopt a box of scraps?

Perhaps YOU would take delivery of one of my loaded boxes of fabric scraps??

Each of the three boxes are filled to the top with various sizes of scraps...all from a variety of my fabric lines with Marcus Fabrics.  And you know just how wonderful Marcus Fabrics are!!

To enter for a chance to win a box of scraps, just leave a comment for me right here on my blog.

Tell me what size quilt is your favorite to make.

Do you make doll quilts most often?

Or, are lap/throw size the quilts you have loads of?

Are Queens and Kings at the top of your list?

Perhaps tablerunners are what makes you happy!!

Leave your comment before midnight Thursday, December 3rd.  I'll choose three winners and get these boxes off to their new homes!  (I'm sorry, for complete transparency and fairness, I am unable to include email entries.)

Thank you all for helping me find a great home to send my scraps.  Quilter's are the best people, and so I'm sure they will be well cared for!  Teehee!!

  2. My favorite quilt is a lap size because they are so versatile and don't take forever (smile) to finish.
I want to make Kim Brackett's Past and Present pattern which would look so nice with your fabric lines. You are so kind to part with this fabric.

  3. Wow! You have been busy :) I love quilts of all sizes!! I'd love to make more large quilts but it's tough to get them machine quilted. I really enjoy hand quilting and am hoping to pick up the speed a little :) So smaller quilts, minis and table runners seem to be all I'm finishing lately. Thank you for the chance to win some scraps!

  16. I always start out thinking that I will make something small like a crib size.... But they grow:)! And since I make my quilts scrappy there is always the thought " what would this block look like in another color combo"? So most of my quilts are bed size!!!

  17. I love to make quilts of all sizes using lots of color and design elements. Your website and blog are so inspiring.

  18. Scrappy wall quilts are my favorite size to make - perhaps a little bigger than doll sized. And the scrappier the better IMHO! LOL

  19. I prefer smaller sized projects. I have a lot of doll-sized and smaller wall hanging sizes (18 x 20 inches) that I hang and switch out in my living room. I also love doing table toppers for my end tables and table runners. I would rather do lap size or throw size quilts since they are easier to manage for me to quilt on my home sewing machine, but I have to admit that I do also have a few full/queen size toppers to finish up into quilts as well.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I will gladly help you out and take all those scraps off your hands.

I make more lap/queen size than anything.

I make for family to use when they're reading, watching TV, sitting on their porches, etc. I have a number of larger projects "in the works" (read: UFOs) and am committed in 2016 to complete some of them. Never really made doll sized quilts but do make table runners all the time. Would LOVE to "re-home" one of your scrap boxes to my house!! Linda H at Canends@Hotmail.com

  68. Hi Pam,
I love making quilts and decorative quilted items for my family. For my family, I make mostly king size quilts or twin size for my grandchildren. I've made a few lap size with special meanings also. For example, my children are all adopted and so are my grandchildren. A couple of years ago, I found these awesome printed fabrics that had quotes about adoption, so I made a large lap size for my daughter. I was so emotional, I cried when I gave it to her!

I also love working with my church's charity quilting ministry. We make quilts for the local homeless shelters as well as sending them with people to other countries. Last year alone, I made almost 100 quilts for local people. Most of the quilts we make there are twin size and baby/child size. Because of the volume needed (several hundred each year), our charity quilts are mostly hand-tied.

My favorite quilt of all is the Scattered Leaves pattern of yours that I made in batiks in a king size. I get so many compliments on it.

Any time you have scraps, I would LOVE to take them. I can use all the scraps I can get!

    Thanks so much!

  87. I usually make large quilts - because they are often inspired by antique quilts . The process is very important to me - lots of hand work and enjoying the challenge of it all - so they often take a while to make. Always happy to help find a home for other people's scraps - thanks for the chance :)

  90. I make tons of table runners & wall hangings. Very few queen & zero king size quilts. I also like to make throw/lap size quilts but I currently have about 20 tops that need to be quilted. I quilt those sizes with my checkbook & since it's on a fixed income, I can't get but 1 or 2 a year quilted. But for me, it's the journey I enjoy, rather than the destination! Would love some of YOUR scraps to add to mine! Love your colors! (jbquiltz@gmail.com)

  91. I love all sizes of quilts and have made some in many different sizes, but my favorite to make are the smaller ones, like tabletoppers and wallhangings. You can try out so many more patterns and color combinations that way. And easier to store!

  92. My new most favorite sized quilts are small ones. My very good friend JoAnn in Massachusetts introduced me to Jo Morton's Little Women Club last year and I've been having fun via long distance (I'm in Idaho). I like the precision I can achieve in my little blocks and have been able to fine tune my stitching. Table runners are a super size for me too. Your fabric line goes great with Jo Morton's and I've been having fun mixing them together.

I like to make throws and wall hangings as they are easy to finish but always feel I should make them for my bed so I can change them out often. I would really like to make a bed runner. I have looked at various patterns, but haven't settled on one yet. If I get your scraps I will surely use them. I love the colors in your fabric lines. Patsy in Byron

  118. It seems I start out with smaller quilts but sometimes I get carried away and they end up king size. I have done a lot of small quilts. I do enjoy making those too. I just like making quilts no matter the size.

  119. I would LOVE to give your scraps a new home! I've been wanting to add to my reproduction fabric stash!! I have 5 sons and every time one of them lies down on the couch with a quilt, they complain that the quilt isn't long enough (throw size.) I have learned that I need to make queen size quilts, even for throw size purposes!!! But I do enjoy the speed of a doll size quilt so have to make them occasionally!

  120. I like making lap sized quilts because they are easy for me to quilt on my home machine. Have taken an interest in miniature quilts, hoping to get some done this coming year. Would love to have some of your scraps to use in those mini quilts!! I have yet to sandwich and quilt the Market Day top I have. Your fabric lines are wonderful and I would love to make a scrappy quilt from them regardless of what size it ends up being. Thank you for the giveaway and enjoy the Christmas Season.

  123. I tend to alternate between bed size and lap/baby size - I must admit I like to quilt the smaller ones more because it's easier to pin them on a table than crawling around on hands and knees on the floor! I have made only two mini quilts - for my grand daughter's dolls! I love your fabric lines - thank you for the chance to win your scraps!!

  124. I love making scrappy any size quilts! And I love miniatures and doll quilts. I just hung 2 doll quilts on my studio wall. I rarely throw away my scraps as I am always using them in smaller projects.

    ReplyDelete
  125. I love wall quilts because they are quick (especially your quilt-alongs) but currently my goal is to make a bed size or throw size quilt for each of my three daughters and their husbands! I have already made smaller throws for the grandsons. I adore scrap quilts the most and often mix fabrics from different collections because I love the fabrics and don't like my quilts to be "matchy-matchy"! And I always include RED - my favorite color!

  126. Scrap quilts are my favorite, so I would love to win yours! My favorite quilt size to make is a throw/lap size. You have all the fun of picking the perfect pattern and fabrics as a bed size quilt but it's much easier to finish! My second favorite is a baby quilt-the fabrics are so cute! I havn't made a miniature quilt before but I am getting the urge to try it after seeing so many lovely ones online. Thanks for the chance to win! Patty in MN

  130. Scrap quilts are my favorite. I need some new and different scraps as my quilts are starting to all look the same. Just purchased some of your new line called Antique Cottons to use in my current quilt a scrappy Churn Dash with 3" finished blocks. I usually make throw size or full size quilts as I quilt my own and can't wrestle the big ones on my domestic machine. Make quite a few smaller quilts as I lead the Jo Morton Little Women's Club at Roberts Sewing Center in Joliet.

  135. I seem to be drawn to the lap size quilt. You can make them scrappy or planned (or controlled scrappy!). I like to hand quilt and lap quilts are a great size to tackle...not too big and not too small. Plus when you're done, you have a soft and supple quilt to snuggle under. Your fabrics are my favorites, Pam. Thanks for the chance to win!!

  138. Oh Pam....so very generous. Of late I have been tending toward lap size quilts and doll quilts. I finally have a granddaughter, so I have a wonderful recipient. However, I must admit I keep many doll size quilts for myself to use in decorating. So with all of that said, I would love to make your "foster boxes" a much loved part of our family.

  139. Hi Pam, I am in heaven with a new granddaughter and it is my hope that one day she will love the fabric and quilting as much as her Mimi does. My grandmother always quilted with scraps as she felt all pieces deserved a good home in a quilt. So I would love to give your scraps a new home for my Lillian to snuggle up with and be loved. Thanks for the opportunity. Jac002us@yahoo.com

  146. I have loved scraps since I was old enough to sit up and play in mom's rag drawer. Scraps are like treasure to me. My favorite quilt size to make is a lap one. They don't take long to make, I can learn a different pattern and technique with each one and that way I can share more with family. Kings and queens are nice but take a while to make. I do a few wall hangings and have no grand daughters to give doll quilts to. Would love to win a box of your scraps. Thanks so much for sharing your bounty.
