More Goodies from Patchwork Garden Quilt Shop

Continuing with my visit to Patchwork Garden Quilt Shop, I would be remiss not telling you about their very large Prairie Women's Sewing Circle club.  They have so many club members that to accommodate them all, they have three meetings, and are considering a fourth!  

With such an active group, they've made a whole lot of Prairie Women projects and treated us all to show-n-tell.

Patchwork Garden Prairie Women....you blew me away with your work!  I so enjoyed meeting every one of you!!  A big, giant THANK YOU to shop owner's Joan and Beverly who hosted a wonderful event that hundreds of people enjoyed.  You made us all feel welcome, well fed and inspired!  

If you're in upstate New York in the Buffalo area, do yourself a favor and visit Patchwork Garden.  They're also very close to Niagara Falls.  A most worthwhile trip....guaranteed!!

My pal, Lynne Hagmeier (Kansas Troubles Quilters) and I just returned from a wonderful visit to  Patchwork Garden Quilt Shop in East Amherst, NY.  Lynne and I both taught one full day class, a half day class, and each gave an evening lecture/trunk show.  Staying for several days really gave us time to get to know shop owners Joan & Beverly, as well as the many quilters we met at the events.  What a treat!

As you can see, the shop is light and airy.  Wonderful displays of every kind of fabric your heart desires await you!

They have a hefty selection of Civil War reproductions, and have ordered all of my fabric collections as well as others from Marcus Fabrics to name a few!  

The shop is located in an old home that Joan and Bev revamped and restored, and twice added additions.  They've done an outstanding job!  

Look at all that lovely fabric!  And great lighting!!  Every kind of fabric, Batiks, homespuns, flannels, novelty, and holidays are found in beautiful displays through out the shop.  

Including one of my all-time favorites....Kansas Troubles fabrics!!  

Our classes were too large to be held at the shop and were held nearby at a building called "The Barn".   The barn is at a wonderful location surrounded by well tended woods where we were visited by many types of birds, a few turtles, frogs and best of all, two young fawns who romped playfully nearby.  The barn has a very large indoor room......

.....and a super large covered outdoor patio.  The weather permitted us to use both spaces!  It was lovely to have the doors and windows open.    

Settler's Puzzle was my day-long class.  

Always so cool to see all the different versions of the same quilt!  I have a few to share with you and hope you enjoy the wide variety of fabrics.  

I am so fortunate to be able to work spending the day with quilters.  They're the best and the ladies Lynne and I met were extraordinary!  Our thanks to everyone who attended our classes and for the warm welcome all of you extended to us.  It was a visit we won't soon forget!!

Primitives of the Midwest will begin next week, July 9th, with a kick off event hosted by none other than Blackbird Designs' Barb Adams and Alma Allen!!!  Workshops begin July 10th with a host of good folk art classes offered by the creators themselves.  Treat yourself to this very special event hosted by Quilter's Station shop owner Rita Briner, a designer in her own right. (Quilter's Station is a fabulous shop featured in Quilt Sampler, too!!)

Join me on Thursday, July 10th for my 
Settler's Puzzle workshop.

And Friday, July 11th for my Tin Pinkeep workshop.
