Pre-Order Butternut & Peppercorn Quilt Kit and Bundles

On a recent trip to New England, I visited a living history museum and was smitten with the combination of butternut/mustard and black.  So very authentic to Colonial New England and it truly inspired me!

Butternut & Peppercorn is the result of all that inspiration.  There are six butternut/mustard prints....

....seven black prints.....

...and five light/neutral prints.  I just love how they turned out.

Cotton Ridge Farm is the quilt I designed just for Butternut & Peppercorn.  I just love this quilt as it captures the traditional look I wanted and showcases the fabrics beautifully (I say very humbly!)
The black print is the border fabric and the butternut print is the main background in the quilt.  (They both photographed much brighter than they really are.)  All of the prints are used in the blocks.  The block is made from Half Square Triangles and Flying Geese.

The quilt size is 66 x 74.

Butternut & Peppercorn will arrive late in January, 2023.

PLEASE!  Ask for it at your LQS.  I've said this before and it needs repeating.....Please support your local quilt shops!  I always want you to buy from them first.  But...if your LQS doesn't carry Butternut & Peppercorn, you can find them on my website.

I am taking pre-orders for Fat Quarter and Half-yard bundles now through December 21st.  Click here to order a bundle.

Thank you for your continued support of my little business!!  I wouldn't be here if not for you!

Keep your needle busy and your heart content.  Be well, my friends!

Quilt Archaeology ~ Holly & Berry REVEALED!

Holly & Berry is my new Quilt Archaeology project.

This is the antique quilt I 'dug up' that inspired me.  Star blocks are always a favorite, and a LeMoyne Star my most favorite!  I hope you like Holly & Berry as much as I do.

These are the fabrics I used to make my quilt, and they will be the same fabrics in the kit you receive*.  I chose the sparkle light print to add a little twinkle to the quilt.  Do you like it?
The Holly & Berry quilt measures 12 x 12 inches.

As with every Quilt Archaeology event, I offer a FREE KIT for this exact quilt* with a qualifying order, so settle somewhere comfy while I tell you all the details.

Starting right now, and through Sunday, December 4th,  place an order totaling $45 or more (not including shipping) on my website for anything you'd like, and you will automatically receive a Holly & Berry kit with your order!!  Nothing to add to your cart.  I'll take care of it all on my end.

My Holly & Berry pattern is a FREE digital download.  Whether you're making the quilt with the FREE kit, or would like to make the quilt using your own fabrics, be sure to download the pattern before Monday, December 5th (the pattern will still be available, but at a nominal fee.)   Click here to download the Holly & Berry pattern.

In the past, I have done a sew-along, but I've discovered that the majority of you complete the quilt on your own, and quicker than the weeks the sew-along would be.  And, the piecing is very simple, and nothing you haven't done before, so I decided not to have a sew-along this time.

During my last Quilt Archaeology event, there was some confusion about getting the project pattern for free.

So, let me say again....the pattern is FREE until December 5th!!

Please download the pattern before Monday, December 5th!!  After that, it will be available for a nominal fee.

Now.....for the good stuff.  Let me show you just some of the new quilting goodies you can choose from at Heartspun Quilts!

I have cut a whole bunch of new Color Bank bundles.  There are lights of every category: tonals, prints and shirtings.

Greens and blues....

Purples and pinks...

Cheddars, browns and blacks...

Reds....
and even a collection of soft and pretty grays.
You can shop for kits.  This is Starry, Starry Nines.
Or, a starter kit for this beauty...The Circa 1880 Nine Patch.

And there's loads of fabric yardage, books, notions and lots of patterns.  Oh, and there's also a selection of patterns on sale for $5!

Click here to begin shopping and receive your FREE Holly & Berry kit with qualifying purchase.

Thank you all for your continued support of my little company.  I just don't know where I would be without you!  The free pattern and free quilt kit is my Thank You gift for your support.  I know you have a lot of choices when shopping for quilting goodies, and I appreciate you more than

PRE-ORDER Plumberry 2 Quilt Kits and Bundles!

PLUMBERRY II is coming in January!!

Marcus Fabrics tell me the orders are pouring in and the line is nearly sold out.  It's time for me to place my order for the two quilts I designed, for Fat Quarters and Half Yard bundles.

Here's your PRE-ORDER opportunity!

Hummingbird Hill by Pam Buda of Heartspun Quilts
Hummingbird Hill is the first quilt I designed using Plumberry II.  It looks much harder to make than it really is.

There are two blocks, most of which are made from strip piecing!  Half Squares and rectangles with connector corners is all it takes to make this stunning quilt.  See....not so bad!

The photos above show the border prints.  The Hummingbird Hill quilt measures 69 x 76.

Pressed Flowers is the second quilt I designed for Plumberry II.  There are just two blocks in this quilt as well: a snowball blocks and a Mrs. Keller's Nine Patch blocks.  The blocks look like flowers to me, which is how it got its name.  We're still piecing Hummingbird Hill, so I don't have blocks to show you of this quilt just yet.

These are the border prints for Pressed Flowers.  The quilt measures 72 x 87.

Click here to PREORDER a Plumberry II quilt kit.

You can also PRE-ORDER a Fat Quarter Bundle or Half-Yard bundle.

(I encourage you to place a preorder if you're interested in Plumberry II as I was told it won't be reprinted.)

Click here to PREORDER a Plumberry II bundle.

Better get back to the studio and start sewing Pressed Flowers!!

Keep your needle busy and your heart content!  Be well....

Introducing Plumberry II

I'm so very excited to show you my new Plumberry II fabric collection for Marcus Fabrics!  I adore plums and purple fabrics and really like working them into my scrappy quilts, and to make all plum quilts, too!  Before I designed my first plum collection (Old Plum Calicos) many years ago, there weren't a lot of plums and purple fabrics in historic reproduction prints.  So, I took it upon myself to fix that problem, and boy, was I right!

This new collection will make it's debut in January, 2023.  Please!!!! Please ask for Plumberry II at your favorite quilt shop.  I always want you to buy from your LSQ first.  It is so very important that we all support our quilt shops as I won't be able to continue to design fabric if we don't have our wonderful shops to buy from.    If your local shop doesn't have Plumberry II (ask them to get it for you!) I will have Fat Quarter Bundles, Half Yards, and kits for both quilts.

Plumberry II has fourteen new plum fabrics in many lovely shades and prints from lavender to eggplant.

And....six lovely neutral prints, too.

Hummingbird Hill by Pam Buda of Heartspun Quilts
I designed two new quilts featuring all of the prints in the Plumberry II collection.  The first quilt, above, is Hummingbird Hill.  Quilt measures 70 x 78.  There are just two simple blocks and most of the blocks are made with easy strip sets!  This quilt may look complicated and hard, but it is NOT!

Pressed Flowers by Pam Buda of Heartspun Quilts
The second quilt featuring all of the Plumberry II prints is called Pressed Flowers.  The blocks look like flowers to me, and I love the open space the snowball blocks give to showcase pretty quilting!

Quilt size is 72 x 87,

Very soon, I will be taking pre-orders for both quilt kits, Fat Quarters and Half Yards.  Plumberry II orders are coming in quickly, and I have to get my fabric order in very soon.

Watch for my blog post and newsletter about pre-ordering Plumberry II coming soon, and....Please!  Ask for Plumberry II at your favorite shop.

Keep your needle busy and your heart content!  Be well, my friends!

Pumpkin Spice ~ Part Two

Welcome to Pumpkin Spice part two.  I trust you have your LeMoyne Star blocks completed.

Next up....the ribbon units for the blocks.  They surround the block and give the block it's great angles.

We're working with connector corners again, and everything we learned from last week's lesson on perfect connector corners is the same on this unit.

Position your black print squares to make the units on the left and the right.  Make (4) of each unit.

*Sew one of each unit side by side; press the seam open.

Make (4) ribbon units.

*Follow the pattern instructions, adding (4) black print squares, and sew the Mosaic Windmill block together.

Make a total of (4) blocks.

Sew the four blocks together, and add the border.  Done!!  I did some very simple hand quilting to my quilt.  Love, love, love it.  Watch for more Quilt Archaeology projects in the future.

I sincerely hope you enjoyed making Pumpkin Spice.  If you're joining us now, it's not too late to make the quilt for yourself.  Click here for the Pumpkin Spice pattern.

IN THE STUDIO......

We are busy, busy, busy cutting and piecing two quilts using my new Plumberry II collection.  The collection will arrive in January!

I'll be taking pre-orders for the two quilts, and bundles in December.  I'll show you more of the fabrics very soon.

Keep your needle busy and your heart content.  Be well, my friends!
