Rachel & Sarah

Rachel's Tribute BOM ~ by Pam Buda for Marcus Fabrics
My 2020 BOM, called Rachel's Tribute is just beginning.  The fabric collection is arriving at your local quilt shop now.  Any and all shops have the fabric collection, not just shops doing the BOM.  I have to say....this is one of my favorite collections.  True, I do love them all, but I've made three quilts from this collection, and never tire of the sweet, little prints.

The quilt above was designed to honor the lovely traditional red & green quilts made in the mid-nineteenth century.  Many were appliqued, and many were pieced like this one.  To truly replicate those traditional red & green quilts, I designed only one background print for this line.  Unusual to do that, but you understand why.
Take a closer look at the Rachel's Tribute prints.
The prints are designed to work in any quilt, any time.  To blend well with scrappy quilts or work in a theme, like Christmas.  They're just really good nineteenth century prints!
Sarah's Dowry quilt ~ By Pam Buda ~ Heartspun Quilts
I wanted to use the Rachel's Tribute fabrics in a totally different way from the BOM quilt and Sarah's Dowry is the quilt I designed.  It's fun...it's scrappy....it's lively!

It's not too late to join the BOM fun and sign up to make my Rachel's Tribute quilt!  Look for a participating quilt shop near you!

  4. Our LOQs carries a lot of the CW colors, but sadly lacking in shirtings and neutrals. Always on the hunt for some sweet shirtings.

  7. Ohhhh.... I could not resist any red and green colors. These are my favorite colors!!! I would never say no to any greens and reds as well as any tonal backgrounds.

  8. Love the new fabrics! What's missing from my stash?? Probably greens and grays... but I'm always on the lookout for reds as well. Thanks for the chance to win!

  10. I'm in a couple block swap groups and am always short on shirtings. I love the bubble gum pinks, neutral greys and taupes and don't have very many of any of these in my stash. Would love to have the chance to win this grouping. Thank you for the opportunity!!

  11. Greens!, somehow I just don't have a lot of greens.
    Thanks,

  12. I always search for "dusty stormcloud blue" with tiny natural prarie-type scattered flowers.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I need some more greens similar to your colorway. I am starting to do some 1800's type quilts and am now collecting fabric.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I love all the colors, but your shirtings are my favorites. They work so well with all the reds of yours I have. A lovely collection!!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Can NEVER have enough shirtings!!!

    ReplyDelete
  16. I've been seeking light shirtings for my stash. They are such great backgrounds for CW prints and batiks. I really like this BOM, even all the small half square triangles!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I'd say my stash is missing greens and blues, although I can never have enough shirtings.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I love all fabrics that are 1800s reproductions. I don't have many greens.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Love your latest pattern. I would want to do it in blue combinations. I could use more yellow in my stash.

    ReplyDelete
  20. My stash is missing purples. I love the color but don't buy it often. Maybe I will start looking for them now!

  21. Blue! A while back I was organizing my fabric and realized that I do not have alot of blue fabric. I don't know why because I like the color blue. Reds are my very favorite color. I'm always drawn to reproduction fabric and I just love a red, white and blue combination. Your pattern and fabric line are so beautiful. Thanks for the opportunity to win. Dolores, Michigan

  22. Blues are missing from my stash. I don't know why because I like the color blue. I will have to build my stash with blue fabric. Reds are my favorite too. I drawn to reproduction fabric and a red, white and blue combination is always stunning. Thanks for the opportunity to win this nice prize. Dolores

  23. 1st dream purple/purple small prints. The dense, purple from the land of batiks. I (we) have a reasonable number of lavenders or whimpy purples but no deeply saturated purples. 2nd dream, shirtings with backgrounds other than cream or carmel. Couldn’t we have light blue shirtings, or light yellow shirtings, or pink shirtings. Why do shirtings always have to be cream/carmel, if you can’t do that how about crisp white shirtings. Yes they exist but I sense cream/carmel are 90% of what us out there and white shirtings are 10%.

  24. I don't think I have any fabrics in the blue-gray fabric and it's strange because I love those colors! Thank you for the giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  25. More bubble gum pinks; one can never have enough of them. And then some rootbeer browns to go with them. I love pink/brown quilts and it is so hard to find fabric for them.

    ReplyDelete
  26. My stash is missing greens and purples. I have Christmas greens but not too many other shades. I have almost no purples. My granddaughter continually tells me that I need more.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I definitely need more rich reds. Sarah's Dowry is gorgeous!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I can never get enough shirtings for my stash. Love the new fabrics--so yummy!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Well, my reds have the fewest fat quarters at the moment but I just started pulling blues for a very Scrappy quilt. I love all your fabrics and would treasure any. Thanks for sharing!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I love this new collection! I love all your fabrics!
Taupe is one of the colors that I don't have a lot of.
Your reds, maroons and purples are my favorites.
    Thanks for the giveaway, Pam!

  31. I can always use more neutrals since I use so many and don't always remember to buy them. And I am always on the lookout for nice purples since they are so hard to find, and I love double pinks! Thanks for the opportunity to win!

  32. Rachael's Tribute prints are absolutely beautiful, a perfect mix of prints and those colors are wonderful. I love red and although I do have red in my stash, there never seems to be enough.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I love the Reds,so that's what I buy the most of. I'm lacking in the more neutral tones, also the blues.

    ReplyDelete
  34. My mouth literally watered as I looked at the photos of your newest fabric line. How utterly gorgeous! My stash is sadly lacking in taupes and greys....I love shirtings but after thinking about things I have NO greys or mauve-ey purples. This post was pure eye candy...thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Your Rachel's Tribute quilt is stunning! The piecing and quilting are amazing. Your Sarah's Dowry quilt would make a beautiful Christmas quilt - without screaming Christmas. In terms of fabrics in my stash - more gray and taupe would be helpful. I think they'd play nice with so many other colors. Thanks for the chance to win.

    ReplyDelete
  36. The traditional reds are missing in my stash. I have brights and Christmasy ones, but no traditional reds. I just started about five years ago working with 19th century fabric replicas and have been enjoying the process of gathering some older patterns. So fun!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I need shirtings! And nuetrals! All of it!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Beautiful quilts & fabrics! Surprised to see that I have the least amount of reds in my stash. Can never have too many tonal backgrounds or my new favorite taupe.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I always look for "dusty storm-cloud blue" with scattered small prairie flowers.

    ReplyDelete
  40. At Christmas time I purchased reds, blacks, and creams. I know I need rusts, chocolates, and greens. As soon as I can I will get Cheddar and Chocolate, but that still leaves greens. Thank you for an opportunity to win.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Definitely shirtings and tonal backgrounds. Seems like there is always never enough for backgrounds!! Rachel's Tribute is a beautiful collection!! Especially love the print that kind of looks like little pineapples!! =:)

    ReplyDelete
  42. Your new line of fabric looks awesome. The fabric I need the most is greens and cheddars. Thanks for the giveaway!

    ReplyDelete
  45. These prints are gorgeous! I wish I had more bubble gum pink and poison green. So hard to find that perfect shade. Thanks for the great giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I would like to have more neutral grays and taupes. I love the look of Diawabo taupes from Japan, and would love to have 18th century prints in that same soft color range. They'd play well with my other reproduction fabrics.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Love more shootings...can never have rung. Just love the mercenaries.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Rachel's Tribute is stunning!! Leaves me in awe.
Is it silly for me to admit that I don't know if I could ever square up that many HSTs? ;)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Love the new line! My repro line is pretty full but could use grays and taupes. Thanks for all you do. Keep up the good work!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Terrific fabrics! I always crave shirtings - specifically conversational prints!

    ReplyDelete
  51. I’m missing good yellow-cheddars, poison greens and who couldn’t use more shirtings?!?

    ReplyDelete
  52. I'd like more shirtings with reddish/cranberry coloring. Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Well....first of all....I LOVE red and green quilts! Can't seem to get enough of them...and have many of them on my quilty bucket list...both pieced and appliqued! I guess what's missing most from my stash is shirtings....I'm attracted to colors and prints, so I'm always adding that to my stash....but, a good quilt needs some light/neutrals to balance it all out...and for me, that would be shirtings rather than solids...

    ReplyDelete
  54. What a tough question, Pam! My answer would be blues .... but I completed my beautiful Mrs. Miller's Apprentice last month. How about some beautiful pinks?

    ReplyDelete
  55. I am missing reds in my stash. I have every other color family except red

    ReplyDelete
  56. I definitely would love more tonal backgrounds but I'm a sucker for any pretty reds, too! Thank you for the opportunity to enter!

    ReplyDelete
  57. I am always on the lookout for non-directional backgrounds as well as cheddar and purple small prints. Love all the small prints in your collections. They work so well when working with little pieces.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I always seem to be short on neutrals and shirtings, I love all your fabrics and the colors in Rachel's Tribute are beautiful. Thank you for a chance to win.

  59. I seem to be short of shirtings! My stash has minimal pink in it, too...mostly because its my least favorite color. I DO love those greens in you post tho! It'd be pretty awesome to win some of them!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Pam, Sarah's Dowry looks like the perfect Christmas quilt. Love it. I have been in the mood for more grays lately. I love the fabrics that are more muted. I think it helps give my new quilts that aged look right away.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Any more it seems I get more confused with computer stuff. I wanted to post to the Blog for the Sarah's Dowry give away so I hope I'm in the right place. I love all the fabrics in the Rachel's Tribute Collection and I would like to see more in the darker shades of burgundy. I also wouldn't mind the shades of gray and taupe.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Thank you for the giveaway! Your fabrics are always so beautiful. I'm loving these reds here and that is something my stash would be cheered by :-) I'm always craving your shirtings though. They look lovely with red too!

    ReplyDelete
  63. I need more purples! A friend just finished a quilt in purples and grey that turned out beautiful! Then painted the bed room in grey with white trim to match the quilt! I have the grey, but need purples. Is it possible to buy just the pattern for the BOM? Or will that be released at a later date?

    ReplyDelete
  64. I am ALWAYS looking for backgrounds, and have recently started looking for reds as I think a pop of red looks good in any quilt.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Hi Pam
    Love your new collection!
I would like more bubble gum pinks but I’m thrilled with the new collection coming out soon with the light blues. So nice to see the cheddars and browns from that collection too!

    ReplyDelete
  66. I am always on the look out for tonal backgrounds. Never to seem to have enough. Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  67. For some reason I don't seem to every get tired of shirtings, white, cream or tan. They are so versatile that they seem to go with what ever quilting project I am working on. Love the Rachel's Tribute quilt and the new line of fabric looks beautiful.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Just started a Pam Buda dedicated stash box that has a few shirtings and scraps from Circa 1880 quilt and the blues from Mrs. Miller's Apprentice. Any color would be a great addition. Really like your fabrics and designs.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Oh my goodness, I am definitely short on neutral fabrics. It is so frustrating to realize after getting excited about a pattern that you don't have enough neutrals. But I just love your new line of reds and greens. Jan from MA

  70. Love all your fabrics!! Thank you for a chance to win this GREAT give away!!

  73. Rachel and Sarah fabrics and patterns resonate with me. I have a quilt my great, great grandmother made, an applique, in similar colors, traditional reds and greens. I am always on the look out to add more reds and greens to my stash.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I love the colors and small scale prints of Rachel's Tribute! I could probably use more pinks and cheddars in my own stash. I always seem to gravitate toward reds, blues and greens. Thanks for a chance to win!

    ReplyDelete
  76. I definitely could use more shirtings and some dead purples.
