Abigail's Sew-Along Part One

Hello, dear quilting friends!  Welcome to my next Quilt Archaeology sew-along for Abigail's Doll Quilt.

Before I begin, I must take this moment to THANK YOU all so very much for the unbelievable amount of pattern downloads for this project.  WOW - It makes me so very happy that you like Abigail as much as I do.

Many, many thanks to those of you who purchased items and received the free kit.  Your continued support of my little business keeps me going, and inspires me to find projects that we can do together, and have some fun.  I am so grateful 💓

Many of your kits are en route to you.  You can always come back to this blog post for photos and directions anytime.  I know many of you chose to use your own fabrics, so let's get started!

I'm going to break the workload down into doable chunks each week.  Here we go......

We begin making lots of Half Square Triangles.  You have cut them a little bigger than needed so you cam trim them to perfection.

Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of (39) Aged Muslin 2" squares.  (Aged Muslin doesn't really have a wrong side.)

Match each with a 2" blue print square.  Sew 1/4" on each side of the drawn line.  Cut apart and press to the blue print square.  You will have (78) Half Square Triangles.

Trim them to 1 1/2" square, unfinished.  That's all for this week.  You have the pattern if you'd like to work ahead.  Do you like having the full pattern rather than getting the instructions each week?  Let me know....

Back to working on new stuff.  Be well and Happy Stitches always!

First we have a softball tournament Saturday and Sunday and then I can hopefully get to some cutting! Thanks again! K- lkw2x6-apq@yahoo.com

  4. Oh, Pam I am looking forward to getting my kit! I seldom work straight from a kit, and often swap or add materials, but I am going to try and be a good girl and stick to the kit!! :) I love Abigail's Doll Quilt.

  6. I really like having the whole pattern ahead of time. That way I can download it and have all of the instructions in one place. Thanks for another great project!

  7. I always enjoy seeing everything that I'm getting into first--my brain just needs that. I have a huge collection of HST trimmings that I'm always looking for things to do with and this pattern worked perfectly! I've already made 9 little blocks and they are so fun! I hope to finish up my runner blocks today and then still plan to start a quilt specifically for this QAL in the next few days! Thanks for the pattern/QAL!
